YOUNG CHEF

Ruby Freeman (winner), 1060 District Governor Don Mc Connell, Jenny Scheme (second) and our District Governor Kistiah Ramaya.

Our Rotary district held the regional final in Cardiff on the 26th March.  There were 4 districts in our region but only 2 took part.  Both our contestants won and will represent our region at the national finals on the 5th May in Lutterworth.  Jenny who won at the district final took second place and Ruby who was runner up at the district was the outright winner. Well done!

YOUNG CHEF

An excellent competition held at Coleg Ceredigion with 6 competitors from 6 zones, the winner was Jenny Schemel from Swansea runner up was Ruby Freeman from Llandridod Wells.  The judges Elaine Jones and Huw Morgan had great difficulty coming to a final decision as the standard was very high

YOUNG CHEF

Trystan with helper Amy and Mrs Bethan Jones, food technology teacher.

Five competitors took part in our zone final and the winner was Jakita Roach from Greenhill Comprehensive School who was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot, our contestant, Trystan Seal produced and served an excellent 3 course meal but unfortunately did not win. Well done Trystan and all involved.

AIR AMBULANCE, SWANSEA.

          

 

Some of our Rotary Club on the visit to the Air Ambulance who we collected donations for over the Xmas period and raised £1600, which was greatly received. A lovely day was had by all who enjoyed meeting the Pilot and the Medics who do such a grand job.

The Winning Team "Hug a Hoodie" Ysgol Dyffryn Taff.

A very entertaining speach was give by the winning team about the Youth of today, Todd Elliot also won "best opposer" for the event, an excellent quality of speakers were in attendance and a good turn out from Rotary and Parents.  Best proposer was Holly Thomas from Greenhill Comprehensive who spoke about "Spare the rod, spoil the child".  Best chair was Aled John from Ysgol Dyffryn Taff the winning team.  The Adjudicators were Mrs Pat Ford, Miss Caroline Mc Mannus and Mr Mike Lewis.

YSGOL GYFUN ABERAERON

They did their best seeing as they stepped in at the last minute to give us a team, speaking about the Euro, but sadly they did not win. Thanks to; Morgan Williams - chair. Stephan Seal - proposer and Robin Lovett - opposer.
